Who We Are
Nigel Integrity, operated by Avance Financial LLC, provides evidence-based integrity monitoring for remote assessments.
What We Collect During Proctored Sessions
- Video from the student's webcam (and 360-degree camera if configured)
- Active tab information during the assessment
- AI-generated flags with timestamps and visual evidence
- Session metadata (start time, end time, assessment ID)
What We Never Collect or Analyze
- Keystroke patterns or typing behavior
- Facial expressions, emotions, or stress indicators
- Eye tracking or gaze direction
- Browser history or content of non-active tabs
- Audio for behavioral analysis purposes
- Any data from the student's device outside the assessment context
How We Use Data
- To provide real-time and post-session evidence for human review
- To generate AI-based flags for reviewer consideration
- To support the appeals and adjudication process
- We never use assessment data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties
FERPA Compliance
- Nigel Integrity operates under the FERPA school official exception
- The institution is the data controller
- We process student education records solely on behalf of and under the direction of the institution
- We do not disclose student information to third parties except as directed by the institution or required by law
Data Security
- All data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
- Role-based access controls
- Regular security assessments
Data Retention
- Retention periods are configured by the institution
- Institutions may request deletion of all session data at any time
- Upon request, data is deleted within 30 days
Student Rights
- Students may view any flags associated with their sessions
- Students may contest flags through the built-in appeals process
- Students may request information about data retention from their institution
- For questions about how your institution uses Nigel Integrity, contact your institution's testing or academic integrity office
Children's Privacy
- Some assessment participants may be under 18
- We collect only the minimum data necessary for integrity monitoring
- Parental or guardian consent is obtained through the institution's enrollment process
Changes to This Policy
- We will update this page when the policy changes
- Material changes will be communicated to institutional partners
